Scan the stack. Keep the documents.
Papers turns a stack of paper into separate documents with readable names, filed into folders on your Mac. Once they are filed, the paper is optional.
Coming to the Mac App StoreRequires macOS 27 and Apple Intelligence
Feed it a stack, get back an archive
Load the feeder and walk away. By the time the last sheet is through, the whole stack has been read.
-
Reads while it scans
Every page is recognized as it arrives, so organizing the stack afterwards takes one short moment rather than a wait.
-
Straightens itself
A sheet that went in sideways or upside down is turned before it is read — and before it is filed that way for good.
-
Catches double feeds
A sheet that went through twice is found by what it says. The newer scan is kept, and the older copy waits to one side for you to decide.
-
Names things properly
Type, who it is about, which organization, which period. Parts that are not known are simply left out.
-
You have the last word
Split, merge, rename, move a page. Nothing is written until you confirm, and existing files are never overwritten.
-
Eight folders
Documents, health, banks and contracts, work, home, purchases, government, everything else — inside a folder you choose.

Your papers are the private kind
Bills, contracts, test results. Here is exactly where they go, so you do not have to take it on faith.
-
Read on your Mac
Text is recognized locally, by macOS itself. Images of your pages are never uploaded anywhere.
-
Grouped by Apple
Only the recognized text leaves, and it goes to Apple Intelligence on Private Cloud Compute — not to a server of ours. We have none.
-
Nothing is kept
Scans and page images are deleted with the session. What is left is the PDFs, in your folder, on your disk.
Scanning is free
Feed paper in, straighten it, save the whole stack as one PDF — that costs nothing, with no account and no time limit. Reading it is the paid part, by monthly or yearly subscription; the price for your country is shown on the App Store.
